Overview of Your Website Build
Discovery & Design Phases
Here’s an overview of the set up for your website, from Sign Up until the end of the Build Phase. You will notice that Customs & Premiums start off the same way, with the Creative Strategy Assessment (CSA) being the trigger for us to begin design work.
Themes are pre-structured websites, and as a result, completely skip the Design Phase. However, Customs & Premium website paths diverge after the homepage design is approved. Customs proceed to the Build Phase, however Premiums design out their Inner Pages and then proceed.
Build Phase
Building your homepage is a similar experience across the board, which requires approximately 2 weeks to complete and send over.
If your homepage looks or functions differently than anticipated, send your revisions, and we will do our best to make all of them. Premiums have an extra round as we will also build out your inner pages, and take us about 2 weeks to build as well.
Products & Page Content Phases
These 2 stages can happen simultaneously or consecutively, and can always be added to at a later date. Many of our clients opt to start with one of the product approaches and add to it later on with an additional approach. Products can be a combination of any of the options listed below.
At a minimum, to launch we generally ask that you have a Services page as well as an About Us page. These can be as surface level or as in-depth as you would like, however Google Search rewards websites with rich content.
At a Glance
Prospective clients ask us constantly "How long does my website take?" and a lot of the time the answer is "it depends on how fast you push the tempo".
From the Design Phase to the Content Phase, the tempo is about 2 weeks per design section (homepage and inner pages) and 1 week per revision. If you are a Premium website and have 0 revisions and are fast to approve, we can speed through in about 4 weeks.
Once into Content, things become much more dependent on you and your initiative. Some clients speed through in days, and others spend a year working on their products and inner page content. It's important to keep in mind that your website will ALWAYS be a work in progress, and if you plan to wait until it is 100% perfect, you may be spinning your tires.
Here at Punchmark, we’re excited to support you through this process! If you have questions, concerns, or need help at any step don’t hesitate to ask.
