Tags are one of the simplest and most flexible tools for organizing merchandise on your website. They let you create dynamic collections, build themed landing pages, and highlight curated product sets without being locked into permanent categories.
Until now, managing those tags meant updating them manually in SiteManager after you had already entered your inventory in the EDGE. That often led to extra work—and sometimes inconsistent data between your POS and website.
With our latest update, your Punchmark website can now import tags directly from the EDGE. That means you can add tags to items as you enter them in the EDGE, and those tags will flow seamlessly to your website.
How It Works
In the EDGE, under the Website tab, you’ll see a field called Meta Tags. Simply type in the tags you want, separated by commas.
For example:
- A $200 set of pearl earrings could be tagged with gifts, gifts for mom, pearl gifts.
- Then, in April, you could build a “Mother’s Day Gifts” collection to begin promoting.
- Later, in June, you could launch a “Pearl Jewelry” landing page for June's birthstone.
Because tags are lightweight and flexible, they allow you to respond quickly to seasonal opportunities without restructuring your catalog.
Setting It Up
To configure tag importing, go to POS Preferences in SiteManager and scroll down to the Item Tags section. You’ll find three options:
- Do Not Import – Manage tags in SiteManager only.
- Merge EDGE Tags Into Website – Add EDGE tags to your website while keeping any tags you’ve already created online.
- Mirror EDGE Tags Into Website – Keep your website tags identical to EDGE. Any tags not in EDGE will be removed, ensuring perfect synchronization.
This flexibility lets you decide how closely your website tags should follow your POS setup.
Why It Matters
By managing tags in the EDGE:
- Save time – Enter tags once, instead of updating two systems.
- Stay consistent – Keep your inventory data and website tags aligned.
- Stay agile – Use tags to build seasonal or trend-based collections without restructuring categories.
For jewelry retailers, this update reduces duplicate work and makes it easier to keep your website fresh, relevant, and in sync with your store’s inventory strategy.
