Punchmark's Customer Success team grew by 1 more with the addition of Eryn Vance!
Eryn is a graduate of UNC Wilmington with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Business. Her undergraduate research was in virtual reality as a business tool. Outside of computers and technology, she's passionate about the natural sciences and enjoys fishkeeping and entomology.
Michael Burpoe, Director of User Experience at Punchmark, spoke with her to learn more.
--------------------------------------------
Michael Burpoe: Hi Eryn! How are you this fine afternoon?
Eryn Vance: Doing well, how are you?
MB: Good! Enjoying the end of the day while working from home.
This was the end of your first week at Punchmark, tell me about your role here!
EV: So I just started on the customer success team. This week I've mostly just been learning the ropes, but I've picked it up pretty quickly and have actually been able to handle a few tickets already! I officially manage two entire accounts now, haha
MB: Two! Sounds like the start of something big!
EV: Hopefully!
MB: It's not just a new job for you, but a new city. Where did you move to Charlotte from and what are your first impressions on the city?
EV: I moved from Wilmington, NC. It's a little beach city about 3 hours away. I actually grew up about 40 minutes outside of Charlotte, but I never did much of anything in the city proper, so it'll be cool to finally have the chance to explore it!
MB: Wilmington is incredible, its like a better version of Myrtle, ahahha.
EV: Exactly! The beaches are less touristy
MB: Outside of work, what other passions or hobbies do you have?
EV: I love fishkeeping; I haven't gotten the chance to set up any tanks since I just moved here a few weeks ago, but I'm hoping to soon! I also collect classic video game consoles and I like gaming in general.
MB: Wow, fishkeeping sounds fascinating. Are there easy fish to keep and hard fish?
EV: Absolutely, the funny thing though is that the easy fish aren't usually the ones you would think. Those goldfish you get for free for winning carnival games? They're a species of carp that can live 10+ years and get like a foot long. I had one as a kid that lived for 12 years, haha. I had to get a 125 gallon tank just to keep him comfy (edited)
MB: What about like a lobster? Could we keep one as a pet in the new office?
EV: Haha, maybe downgrade that to a crawdad, then its do-able
MB: Ok, we will have to talk about this more. Would love an office fish tank.
Thanks Eryn for your time! Very excited to have you on our team!
EV: No problem! I'm excited to finally meet everyone in person once they're all back in the office soon!
