This past Friday marked the sunsetting of Version 5 of Punchmark’s SiteManager. The vast majority of active Punchmark clients had Version 5, commonly known as V5, as their entry point to the Punchmark ecosystem, and seeing it officially laid to rest is… emotional!
V5 was a major milestone for our company, and was where we saw the greatest amount of growth. It was MUCH more powerful than its predecessors, the first to control Forms, integrated with The Edge, and the Batch Processor. It also put security at the forefront of website management and provided an auto-renewing SSL certificate with every website.
Our dearly departed Version 5 was sunset now that all sites have been migrated to Version 6. By sunsetting V5, it frees up Punchmark servers to now only have to focus on a single version, which is much more efficient. It also allows new developers to only need to learn how to develop on our current version, which is much more streamlined.
