Punchmark is very excited to announce the addition of Savannah as our new intern! Savannah will be assisting the Design Team as well as the Marketing Team in their efforts.
Sarah Weekes, Art Director, sat down with Savannah to talk about her internship with Punchmark.
Sarah: Hello Savannah! How are you today?
Savannah: I'm doing good! How about yourself?
Sarah: I’m doing great, thanks! You’ve been at Punchmark for about 2 weeks now, how has it been so far?
Savannah: Awesome! I feel like i’ve already learned a lot, found new ways to be creative in my field, and met some very nice people, so I think it’s been successful
Sarah: I'm so glad you like it here and that you're learning! Where are you originally from?
Savannah: Born and raised here in Charlotte, NC! Feels nice to be back after being away for school
Sarah: That's so rare to meet someone actually from Charlotte, we have so many northerners here! Myself included…haha. Where did you go to school?
Savannah: Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia!
Sarah: That's awesome! I’ve visited Savannah, GA once and it was gorgeous there. So what made you decide to major in Graphic Design?
Savannah: For as long as I can remember, I always found myself doodling and expressing myself creatively. I used to be a writer in middle school and early years of high school, but found a passion for photoshop and designing digital layouts. When I found out graphic design was a mix of different creative aspects, including writing and photography, I was hooked right then and there.
Sarah: I love that! I also love how versatile graphic design is. What are you hoping to learn as an intern here at Punchmark?
Savannah: I hope to really learn what it’s like being creative when it comes to client work and experiencing the process that comes with it. It’s so different from being given a prompt and have ultimate creative freedom, and the graphic design world is very client-based so gaining this experience will help me be better prepared
Sarah: Yes, for sure! Outside of work, what sort of passions or hobbies do you have?
Savannah: I really enjoy seeking out my other creative outlets, like writing as of late, or photography. Exploring uptown Charlotte is also something I’ve been having fun doing
Sarah: That's awesome! I love photography as well, writing... not so much haha. Charlotte has so much to offer in terms of food & drink, I love it here too! Well thank you so much for chatting, we are so glad you're here with us
