PHP Developer/Engineer

Details

Status: OPEN
Employment Type: Full-time
Manager: Director of Technology

About the Position:

We are looking for an inventive, client-focused web developer who knows how to build optimized code. We are successfully helping small businesses compete online in the fashion industry, and need your help as we grow. We get to work with world-class web designers to produce alluring experiences while building on an efficient home-brewed stack that handles our nearly 500 clients. Our technologies are primarily LAMP and Lambda, but we are always learning new platforms and libraries to build the latest features. A few of our latest have been game-changers using AI.

The ideal candidate has experience problem-solving in PHP, JavaScript, and HTML, and can demonstrate this experience through a portfolio and/or GitHub history. We are looking for someone who operates well on a small team and is able to use git to collaborate with others while maintaining existing code quality. Everyone on our team, regardless of skill level, leaves their ego at home and strives to learn every day. You will be expected to have enough competence to work on tasks by yourself, but you will be amongst others with decades of coding experience to fill in the gaps where you still have opportunities to improve. Bonus points if you have experience writing vanilla JavaScript, writing MySQL, testing code for quality standards, using Linux, navigating AWS servers, using Bash, Ansible, or working in an Agile environment.

Requirements:

• Experience with PHP or similar web languages
• A high comfort level in MySQL or similar database engines
• Web experience (HTML, JS, some CSS, etc)
• A portfolio or GitHub with examples of your work, or links to things you've built
• A collaborative attitude that fits well on a team

Nice to haves:

• JavaScript
• jQuery
• MySQL
• Bash
• QA experience
• Comfort with Linux
• Comfort with Ansible
• AWS DevOps experience
• Experience in an Agile development environment
• Prior experience with e-commerce platforms

We look forward to hearing from you!
